May 10-11, 2014 – Following an extremely satisfying organized party from Travel Factor, I decided to entrust my next adventure to them. For the first time, I will be will two of my best girls from high school – Crissa and Nikki for a surf trip to Baler. This will be the first time any of us have ever tried to surf and we’re glad we did just fine and left Baler without injuries or drowning incidents. We were a tanned a bit too much, exposing ourselves to the noon time sun while waiting for waves to come during our lesson, but it was all worth it. Four months later, my sunburn still hasn’t gone.
I never thought that there’s a surf scene in the Philippines. I’m so glad to have the opportunity to learn a new water sport <3
Not forgetting my lifetime assignment of making new friends, here are a few of the people we were with. This is a group package so we were strangers that made up a group of about 20 people in total. It helped a lot that our travel coordinators: Boni and Tikoy were such fun people. I understand that Travel Factor is a bit pricey compared to other adventure groups, but I like to think that I paid cheap for the pleasing company of Boni and Tikoy. It didn’t feel like we had tour guides with us. It felt like we had two friends showing us how to have a good time.
We were lucky to have fun people with us too. I was most apprehensive that other barkadas wouldn’t like to mingle with us. Well, the bigger groups didn’t, so the smaller groups of 1-3 people got to make new friends. Yay for small groups!
I think once in a while, it is good to travel and be with young people. The energy is contagious!
Travelling with friends was just a dream we had in high school. Now we’re living in a city different from where we were raised. Each of us have our own careers and circle of friends. Moments like this, are very special. Cheers to living our dreams~ An overnight trip is just the start of our adventure. Soon we will meet in another continent, yes? More travels to us!
